Derek Eynon is a versatile British musician based in Bromsgrove (near Birmingham), active since the ’70s. He’s best known for three facets of his career:
🎸 Solo Performer
A singer‑guitarist and bassist, Derek has performed solo since 2005 with no backing tracks—just voice, guitar, and foot‑tapping for rhythm
His repertoire ranges from classic rock and country to vintage pop and original singer‑songwriter material. Covers often include Elvis, Eagles, Johnny Cash, Neil Young (“After the Gold Rush”), as well as crowd‑pleasers like “Hotel California,” “Maggie May,” and “Sweet Caroline”

🪕 Red Shoes (Folk‑Rock Band)
Derek was the original bassist for Red Shoes, a folk‑rock band formed in 1983 in Birmingham. He played with them during ‘83–89, ‘94–96, 2000–01, and rejoined in 2019
.The band released several 80s singles (“All Fall Down,” “By the Time It Gets Dark”) and albums produced by Fairport Convention bassist Dave Pegg. Their song “Celtic Moon” was later covered by Fairport.
